Alison's Story
“Thank you once again for yesterday. I will be forever grateful.
I have written something. If I have misunderstood the task let me know I can go back and edit.
Like I said previously my brain isn’t fully functioning and as you heard completing sentences isn’t
something I am managing well at the minute.
Alison (Name changed to protect privacy)
I contacted Bridget originally about the spiritual evenings she hosts each week.
I am going through a major life change and felt like this is something I wanted to explore on that
journey.
I arranged to go to a Thursday evening session. It ended up only being myself so Bridget reached out
and we arranged to meet at hers to go through the evenings topic.
Well, Bridget started on slide one and I broke down in tears due to my personal problems.
Bridget was so kind and patient and she ended up spending the evening talking things through with
me and listening to me.
I left feeling like this woman I had just met was so genuinely kind to treat and support me like that.
Bridget reached out the following week to me. She caught me on a day I was struggling a lot. It
seemed to be she knew with her timings!
We spoke about the evenings she hosts and the other 121 work she does too.
We arranged for me to see her at the end of the week for a 121 session.
I was welcomed again into her space at home. Bridget is so generous and really does welcome you
into her home. Along with her 2 excitable dogs!
We spent the evening talking
After leaving the session Bridget offered for me to reach out in between my sessions if I needed too.
Two days later I found myself in a very vulnerable position. I was struggling with my thoughts and
anxiety and all I could think to do was reach out to Bridget.
It isn’t like me to do something like that but she must of left a lasting impression to feel safe enough to
reach out.
This was at the weekend and she immediately said come over. No hesitations.
I drove to hers and she welcomed me back into her space even on a Sunday! With 30 minutes notice.
She sat with me and spoke about what had been troubling me. She offered me a drink and home
comforts. We talked about how anxiety shows up in our body. We did a drawing exercise to go
through this. She showed me breathing and tapping techniques to use to help with the anxiety. To help
make the thoughts in my mind be a little calmer.
We performed these exercises together.
After I had settled my racing mind a bit Bridget
Then introduced me to the room/house exercise.
Describing each room in the house from my own imagination.
Bridget worked along side me while I completed the exercise. She gave up her time, energy and space
to help sooth me on a day of serious need.
Like I said previosuly this isnt something I would ever do lightly reaching out to someone in that head
space. Especially someone I had only met a handful of times. Goes to show what person she is.
We went through the exercise once I was finished. Bridget took time to go into detail and explain
everything as we went along.
I dont want to spoil the exercise too much for anyone reading but there was alot more to it that meets
the eye. Opening up your thoughts and thinking.
Once we had completed the task Bridget made sure I was feeling better than I was when I had arrived.
Which I was.
We then said our goodbyes until our next session together.”
